For Kyle and I, marriage has been pretty much the best thing ever. Now don’t get me wrong, it hasn’t been easy but for us but it has only been a life-giving blessing. I want to help you cultivate connection in your marriage and relationships so I created these monthly prompts to give you a jumping off point. And with each post, I will also be sharing a quick thing that I think has helped our marriage thrive.
February’s Tip: Sync your days
For us, this started out of necessity. The first 6 months that we were married, our schedules were opposite. Kyle is high school teacher and I worked at trader joes while getting my business up and running. Aka kyle worked days and I worked nights and weekends. And we never had the same day off.
In order to see one another, I would get up with him at 5:30 am before he went to work, and he would stay up for me when I got home later that night around 11 pm. We didn’t get much sleep but it was worth it so we could spend some time together.
Once I went full time with my wedding photography business, our schedules were more aligned but we still decided to keep our schedules synced (but now we are for sure asleep by 9:30). It has allowed us sweet moments together that we wouldn’t have if we didn’t do this.
I hope this little tip and insight into our marriage is helpful and that you enjoy these prompts!
