Dressed as prince charming, he knelt down on one knee. With the Disney castle as the backdrop, he presented a glass slipper to his Cinderella. Thanks to a glass blower in Japan, it fit her perfectly. But there was still another shiny surprise. He pulled out a ring box and asked her to if she would be his wife.
On their wedding day, Chris waited patiently at the altar. From behind him, there was a sound. Clip Clop. Clip Clop. He turned. And there was his bride, arriving in a white horse-drawn carriage. Tears slipped down his face. She is so beautiful. As they shared their vows, more tears were shed. Not just by the groom.
All of these details were only made more meaningful by the fact that these two met on Halloween, love dressing up, and Cinderella has always been Courtney’s favorite.
It was over two years ago when first heard their love story and a year since their beautiful wedding day, so it was a joy to get Courtney and Chris in front of my lens and hear about their first year of marriage.
The eastern sky was barely starting to lighten they parked next to me. With sleepy but happy eyes, we hiked up to our destination. Just as we got to the peak, the sun burst over the horizon. A stunning backdrop for an even more beautiful couple. I can’t get over how sweet and playful they are with one another. When I asked them to share some things they loved about one another, they were so thoughtful and sweet that I teared up.
Chris and Courtney, it has been a joy to share in your journey over the past couple of years and an honor to tell your story! I hope you enjoy these images and our time together encourages your marriage and remind you of the things that really matter. Love you two!
