Your wedding day only happens once. But since this is your first time how are you suppose to know how to avoid all the potential pit falls that will make you stress and anxious?! You can’t. Not on your own. But you can find someone to guide you through your wedding day and help eliminate stress as much a possible, and help you be in the moment. I love doing this for each and every one of my couples but I decided it was high time I share these helpful insights! All the way from getting ready to the grand exit.

Today we are starting with, you guessed it, getting ready! I’ve got 2 helpful tips to give you the best experience ever!

01. Create a great environment ⠀

If you are like me a messy space makes me feel anxious! But a tidy space can be hard to come by when you have all your bridesmaids getting ready in one space. Your friends love and care about you so let them know that this is a priority for you! It also might be a good idea to put your maid on honor on tidy duty. That way things can stay lovely without you needing to run around and tidy things up!

Not only is this wonderful for you personally to have a peaceful morning, but your photographer will also LOVE you for it. Why? It will allow them to capture more candid and genuine moments that are also beautiful.

Another great tip for having beautiful getting ready photos, it to choose a location that has a ton of windows. All of that natural light will make your skin look so lovely!

02. Put on some fun tunes

It is amazing how much music can affect the mood of the morning. Especially when the photographer shows up! It helps mask the sound of the shutter so that you and your ladies and feel more at ease.

Have one of your bridesmaids make a playlist! I recommend creating two. One that is peaceful and chill and another that is upbeat and fun! Getting ready takes a long time and you never know how your mood might change! ⠀

03. Give your phone to your maid of honor

Naturally, people will be texting you. Some to congratulate you and some to ask you questions about the wedding day. But you my friend need to relax and not worry about a single thing. If your maid of honor has your phone she can screen which texts you know about. She can read out loud the sweet text from your favorite aunt, answer all the simple questions like “what room are we getting ready in again”, and take all difficult questions to your coordinator. While she is taking care of all this communication you can just relax and enjoy the morning.

I hope these five tips will give you the insight you need to have the BEST morning on your wedding day, eliminate unnecessary stress, and helps you be in the moment. In the next post, Bridal Basics: Getting ready pt 2, we will be talking about timeline tips for the morning of your wedding!
