It was only the second week of school and the campus library was full of bright eyed students. Surrounded by books and hushed tones, Candi was bright-eyed too. But it wasn’t just her studies that had her excited. She had just met a man named Bill. And she knew she wanted to marry him.
The semester was off to a great start. My classes were great. My team leaders were doing great. And we were about to head up the mountain for a retreat with all of the leaders. I loved these retreats, the cabin with a view of the lake, and the all the fun activities we had planned. But during this cabin retreat, something was different.
Shelby and David had planned on our session together serving as a baby announcement. I was privilege to know about their pregnancy early on because of this. Sadly their baby stopped growing and was lost. On a place that is often a highlight reel, Shelby shared their experience on Instagram with strength and grace that brought me to tears.
The summer flew by. A couple weeks before the semester started, the relationship I was in ended. I was ready for a new fresh start and for a season of absolutely no guys. I was finally getting the hang of that time management thing and wanted no distractions. I was particularly excited about the on-campus job, little did I know, I was about to become Kyle’s Boss!
